Nicole Dufresne was an American actress and educator known for her work in the New York City theater community. She was born on January 7, 1969, and grew up in Massachusetts. Dufresne received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
Dufresne was a founding member and artistic director of the Shakespeare on the Sound theater company in Connecticut. She also worked as an actress, appearing in productions at theaters such as the Public Theater, Lincoln Center Theater, and the American Repertory Theater.
In addition to her work in theater, Dufresne was a passionate advocate for arts education. She was the executive director of the Arts in Education Roundtable in New York City, where she worked to promote the importance of arts education in schools.
Tragically, Nicole Dufresne passed away on January 1, 2005, at the age of 35. Her death was a result of a senseless act of violence when she was struck by a stray bullet while walking with her fiancé in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Her untimely death left a lasting impact on the theater community and the many individuals whose lives she touched through her work as an actress and educator.
